Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on many businesses in our community, with shutdowns, PPE requirements, and other limitations affecting business activity.
One facet of the Town's support for business involves preparation for recovery efforts, to position our business community for a faster recovery following the "second wave" as limitations on business activity are eased over time.
Another involves one of the three priority focus areas of the 2019 Economic Development Implementation Plan, supporting and strengthening the downtown.
The Wayfinding project will involve the design, fabrication and installation of a cohesive, consistent family of signage to make it easy for residents and visitors to find their way around and to highlight areas and attractions of interest. As a priority focus area, the downtown will be highlighted in the first phase of implementation to further attract attention to the downtown core and assist in business recovery. In later phases, the program will be expanded to the rest of the Town. Design is expected to be completed in 2020.
In this webinar, the town will present and discuss the elements that make up a successful wayfinding program and seek feedback on the strength of those elements within various concept drawings. Feedback received will help to inform the final design concept for wayfinding signage in Okotoks.
