MEMBER EVENT - The Arts As An Economic Driver

We would like to invite to a thought-provoking talk hosted by Creative Okotoks, brand new art and economic-focused collaboration connecting the Okotoks area through speaking events.

Our thinking:

• to encourage vision toward a stronger, more vibrant, creative economy.

• to increase understanding of the many contributions the Arts make to communities

• to illustrate the economic value in the future industry and retention gains

• to connect Arts and related Technology and Education initiatives under creativity

• to encourage a major Arts economic driver for our region

Our aim is to connect the public to consider the possibility what an arts economy might bring to our future and encourage thinking in art and creative based opportunities and investment.

Todd Hirsch of ATB Financial is booked to speak in Okotoks along with a member of his team. He will present on the economic viability of The Arts in Southern Alberta. Todd, who was in Okotoks at a Chamber of Commerce function in early 2017, is not only ATB’s new Vice President and Chief Economist but also on the board of the University of Calgary and Chair of the Calgary Arts Academy.

Todd will be here in Okotoks the evening of June 14th, 2018 for a meet and greet with invited guests and, following, a talk to the public on all things Arts and the Economy. June 14th 2018 8:00pm

The cost of the event is to cover the cost of the venue, all profits and proceeds from the event will be donated to charity.
